The AGM of Cordal Coiste Na nÓg was held at Cordal Community Centre on Sunday 15th January.
A constructive and well attended meeting was held. Chairman Joe O’Connor opened the meeting with a prayer for all in the Community who passed away during the year. The various officer reports were read out and accepted. Secretary Mike Flynn detailed the achievements of the Club during the year, thanking all the officers and coaches. Chairman Joe O’Connor also thanked the coaches and the Coaching Officer Sean Og O’Ciardubhain for the excellent work done in 2016, saying that the emphasis on coaching coupled with the successful re-development of the field meant structures were being put in place now at under-age to bring success to Cordal Coiste Na nÓg and the Senior Club for the years ahead.
Treasurer Denis Collins outlined the finances of the club. The Club finances are in good position considering the busy year just had. The importance of a successful Biddy to be held the weekend of January 29th 2017 was very clear when the figures are examined and its contribution to the overall Finances of the Club was very clearly demonstrated.
Registration for 2017 will take place at Cordal Community Centre on the Sunday 12th February from 12.30 to 1.30pm. At the moment, the GAA are running a National Draw which is being used as a Club Fund-raiser, the money raised by each Club in selling the tickets stays in the Club. Full Details of the impressive prizes available are on www.gaa.ie. This year, we are including these tickets as part of your child’s registration. The importance of registration was discussed at the meeting. To protect both the Players and the Club from any liabilities resulting from an incident which can happen in competitive sport, it was decided that all players must be registered by 1st March.
Registration cost 30 Euros for 1 child and 1 ticket, 50 Euros for 2 children + 2 tickets, 60 Euros for 3 children or more + 3 tickets. A copy of the Birth Cert for first time members will be required.
