“Goals win Games”
A six goal blast in a game versus Killarney Legion last Saturday paid dividends for Cordal/Scart who won the game by a very strong margin.
After scoring 1-02 in the first ten minutes and aided by a goal from Eddie Horan, the home boys had a good start. Both teams failed to score for the next ten minutes with Legion then bursting back with six points and with great play from their midfielders.
Cordal/Scart brought Eddie Horan out to midfield and Cathal O’Donoghue switched to full forward and this led to almost immediate returns with two more goals from Eamon Nolan and Sean O’Connell for the home sides minutes before the half time whistle.
The Half Time score gave Cordal/Scart a promising seven point lead at 3-04 to Legions’s 0-06.
A quick Conor Kerin’s goal gave Cordal/Scart the ideal start and they continued to dominate with strong play from Sean O’Connell, Shay Walsh and Eddie Horan.
The management made sure to run the bench and each player got valuable game time on the squad.
It was a perfect second half for the Cordal/Scart team and they had an easy home win with 6-13 to Legion’s 0-10 upon the referee’s final whistle.
